This whole “journey” started about 4 years ago. I weighed 296LBS, smoked a pack of cigarettes a day, and just felt generally bad. I started powerlifting with zero expectation of competing. Fast forward to now, and I’m in love with the sport. However, in my “off season”, I sometimes struggle with staying fully focused on nutrition, so when this fitness challenge came along, I figured this would be a good motivator to stay more strict with my diet.

In addition to this, I had a little friendly competition with one of my friends from the gym. Overall I’m pleased with my results, whether I win, or not. At the end of the day, this gym and lifestyle has been transformative for me, and I plan to continue this lifestyle for as long as possible.
