I decided to join the challenge because I needed a goal. I love to workout, but sometimes I feel we need a little push. Getting outside of my comfort zone was what I needed to start to feel better inside and out. This challenge was a great kickstart to what the rest of my year and fitness journey will entail. It’s such an awesome feeling to also be surrounded by people that are like-minded. I have become a lot more disciplined in the gym, and for the first time in a long time in the kitchen. This challenge was definitely something at this time in my life that I needed!
I joined the challenge because I wanted to start my journey to a healthier life. I came to it without high expectations, but the personal training sections with Carolyn gave me the push I needed to go to the gym consistently and be conscious about my health. Even though I have not reached my goal (yet!), I am proud of myself for what I did accomplish. I am now more active and eating healthier (food has always been a struggle). I'm looking forward to continuing this journey!
I went into this just wanting to lose weight, and gain muscle, I ended up losing muscle, but I believe I gained really healthy habits. I have never ended a challenge knowing I was going to continue making healthy choices in the future, but something changed.
Most challenges are for a month, maybe two. Three months is not a long time, but it has helped me to stick to healthy eating and stress reduction. These three months were some of the most stressful months I’ve had due to personal injuries, financial struggles, and work stresses. This caused me to miss almost a month in the gym, but the whole time I was not there, and working for 20 days straight, I was continually planning meals, trying to walk, and making healthier decisions. I didn’t lose as much weight as I wanted to, but 18.5 pounds off, is better than carrying it around. I plan on continuing on this journey, and losing more weight, and gaining the lost muscle, and adding to it.
I am happy with my results, and can’t wait to complete this challenge for me, no matter how long it takes.
When considering a 12-week fitness transformation, thoughts often focus on measurable physical changes. However, committing to a plan can lead to more than just a physical makeover—it can transform your mind. Over these 12 weeks, I discovered much about myself and my true capabilities. Beyond weight loss and muscle gain, I learned about proper nutrition, program commitment, goal setting, and the value of a coach. Initially seeking accountability to lose stubborn weight, I found much more than that. As a father of three, I often used time as an excuse for neglecting meal planning, workouts, and general health. This program taught me that was merely an excuse. Embracing a leadership-by-example approach, this opportunity has enabled me to be a better role model for my children, teaching them the importance of goal setting and dedication. This experience has been truly life-changing, enhancing my health, energy, confidence, and positively impacting my personal and family life. For anyone stuck either physically or mentally, I highly recommend embarking on such a program. This is just the start for me—the journey continues.
I have been self-training with minimal results, not producing the desired outcome. In December, I joined Showcase Gym and entered a 90-day challenge that yielded impressive results. Jordan created a plan for me to implement, a nutrition plan, and a workout regimen. With discipline and dedication, I was able to lose roughly 25 pounds and somewhat of a physique. I have never felt more welcome than at Showcase Gym. Jordan’s humor and motivation techniques were an uplift on challenging days. I wish I’d started training much sooner.
